Console tables come in a variety of different materials including wood, metal and stone. Many wood ones have scroll work or other decorations that enhance the design of the table. They can come in a variety of colors and styles.
We've talked about console tables in entryways and living rooms, where they can be placed against a wall or adjacent to a couch or settee. So where else can you locate your console table? Almost any room in the house! You may have use for one in a sunroom, and certainly a library or study room can benefit from console tables to hold books, a computer and printer, or to attractively display collectibles. Bedrooms are a perfect location, as the tables are a perfect spot for pictures, beauty products, books, lamps, and of course, clocks! Last but not least, it's almost impossible to ignore dining rooms, where a console table can be used for extra plates of food and to hold and display beverages and glasses.
Many people today are confused when they think of the furniture term console table. In the past, consoles or hall tables were largely used as a decorative table or furniture item placed within a living area to store or display accessories. Today the console table use in a home decorating project has many more uses, and have in many cases become a focal point for a room.
