Flooring years ago was hardwood floor by necessity. It was all they had available so it was what they were stuck with. When carpeting and linoleum were invented, it was like Heaven to many homeowners. From there, we've seen tiles, laminate flooring and now many are back to wood flooring. Wood flooring looks elegant and goes with any style of furniture. Because console tables come in such a large variety of styles, finishes and colors, you can often get them to match your flooring.
Console tables tend to stand on four legs that are often slender but sometimes intricately carved. The legs support a table top made from any number of quality woods, including: oak; walnut; ash; maple; or even pine. In many cases, quality console tables and are made with a solid wood covered with veneered inlays. Common features on console tables are drawers and compartments for the storage of paperwork, spare bedding, and similar items.
There is no doubt about the importance or unique role played by a console table in a home. It is a very stylish furniture piece to have as it bestows an air of sophistication on any room where it is found. Apart from its aesthetic role, it also serves as a good place to store odds and pieces away from the public eye.
