Flooring years ago was hardwood floor by necessity. It was all they had available so it was what they were stuck with. When carpeting and linoleum were invented, it was like Heaven to many homeowners. From there, we've seen tiles, laminate flooring and now many are back to wood flooring. Wood flooring looks elegant and goes with any style of furniture. Because console tables come in such a large variety of styles, finishes and colors, you can often get them to match your flooring.
What is a console table, exactly? Shape provides a clue here. These tables are typically rectangles, but it can have a semicircle or half-oval top. It's longer than an accent table or an end table, narrower than a sideboard or kitchen counter, and taller than a kitchen table. You'd never look at a console table and think, "Will we be eating dinner here?"
There are several pieces that you can also use to decorate them and they include: photo frames, lamps, flower vases, trophies, figurines, art pieces, carved images... the list is endless. These and several others can be put to good use. Additionally, ensure that the items all blend in with the tables and also with the other furnishings in the room. And don't forget to be creative.
