Although this need to secure candles safely is an important factor, candle retailers are realising that more often consumers are purchasing candle holders as gifts, table centrepieces or to complement their décor. As such, there is a call for action for decorative holders to house these enchanting torches. In response to this market demand, leading candle retailers have developed glass and ceramic holders to suit consumers varying tastes.
Candle holders come in a variety of shapes and sizes, some designed to please the eye, some designed with a more utilitarian purpose in mind. They were designed to keep the candles in place and make sure that homes were out of danger for fire as well as to keep from burning ourselves. The designs range from the extremely simple tealight holder to the ornate hurricane holders with a wide range of styles in between. Here are some ideas regarding the styles and function of candle holders.
Taper holders are created to hold taper candles. Taper candles are a slim wax candle that is thinner towards the top of the candle, and thicker near the bottom. These generally require the proper candle holder specific to a certain candle size. Hurricane holders are generally made out of large glasses. The tall shape generally will cover the entire candle. It is designed to protect the nearby objects of the candle from the heat and the flame given off. Generally seen in old lamps.
