Besides the style you should also consider what type of storage you want, if any with your console table. Some offer one drawer, others offer two or three. Some have large cabinets perfect for stashing board games and jigsaw puzzles in the living room or holiday decorations for the table top above in the hall. Still others have a combination of drawers and cabinets making the storage options abundant. If you are in need of a place to simply add a decorative touch to your room choose a console table with just a table top or a table top and lower shelf for a bit of simple elegance .
Console tables are a very busy piece of furniture in most homes. While not every home has a console table, those that start to appreciate the use of console tables eventually wonder how they ever lived without them. Consider the foyer in your home. As soon as you walk in the first thing you see is one of those console tables sitting there waiting to greet you. This is a place where your keys can be put down. Perhaps you put the mail on the counter or in a drawer, or tomorrows mail on the counter to remember to take it with you. This is also a good place for a flashlight, the dog's leash and any number of other items that you are going to need as you go in and out the front door.
The last type we are going to consider here is the hallway console table. Such a table must be relatively small in order for it to fit in a hallway without disrupting anyone that wants to walk through it. This can be used to place a phone device or a clock on and it can look amazing.
You may also want to enhance your space with them by putting complimentary items upon it. As an example, you may want to add a few tasteful coffee table books or a small tray with candles. You also may want to try a color scheme for your console tables that blends in with the rest of your décor.
You should not sacrifice quality for price, which is why you need to know what to watch out for in your pursuit of a cheap console. Be sure to check out the material from which the table is made. Is it durable? How easy would the maintenance be? Are there any defects such as dents on it? These and other similar questions are pertinent when purchasing your console table. Remember, getting a cheap console table is not just about the purchase price, but also the cost of maintenance. If you get a very cheap table which cannot serve its purpose well and requires you spending additional money on repairs, what's the point?
